This takes some getting used to. I concelebrated today, and I had to remind myself not to be a deacon. I still act as a deacon when I read the Gospel (It’s really the deacon’s ministry. If there is no deacon, the priest takes on this ministry, but if there is a deacon, he has the first right to it), but I also participate in the Eucharistic prayer.
It’s probably a good thing I don’t know what’s really going on at Mass. I might be scared to death. It’s quite a responsibility.
